Our new Real Weddings series explores how the invitation sets the tone for the event. As invitation designers we do not often get to see the event come to fruition so this series is a special treat for us and we would like to share the culmination of many vendors’ hard work with you. We feel very lucky to be involved with so many incredible events here at SWEET and this is just one of many beautiful examples we have to share. A very big WOW and thank you to Chowen Photography for the gorgeous images in this post!

Meet Mandy & Andy.

Mandy and Andy were married in Telluride Colorado during the month of June.  With the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop they staged a gathering with a laid-back, non-traditional feel. Notable touches include  mason jar, burlap and twine displays, couches in the grass, groomsmen in cowboy hats and adorable table cards incorporating photographs of the bride and groom growing up.

Mandy defined her wedding style as “rustic elegant” and she emphasized her desire for a casual and comfortable atmosphere. Obviously, her favorite part of the day was marrying her husband, but browsing through photographs of the day it becomes apparent how much thought went into creating a setting which allowed for her desired tone.

When Mandy approached us about her invitations, we worked together to create an invitation, envelope label, RSVP and thank you card which together set the tone of her wedding. The kraft envelope and earthy hues spoke to Mandy’s rustic style while the clean, modern fonts and unique texture of letterpress printing lent an elegant feel. Before they even confirmed their attendance, guests received a first impression which sang the tune of Mandy’s dream.

We then went on to create fun table cards (in which each table was identified by a year and featured photos of the couple from that time period) as well as clean, colorful escort cards that were festively strung from clothes pins in the reception area. We had a blast working with Mandy & Andy and wish them many, many  years of happiness!
